As I count down the days to Doctor Who, I just keep getting more and more and more and more excited. It’s better than Xmas and birthdays and even Halloween! Maybe even all of those things combined!
4. What the hell are The Silence?
No really, though, what? We’re being led to believe that it may be these things:
A thing in a tie
Or maybe it’s in there?
The Silence in the SpaceSuit?
Or maybe that spacesuit thing is something even cooler, like a callback to Ambassadors of Death? I feel like with SO much promo stuff being thrown at us that the majority of what we’re seeing contains either red herrings or is something totally not what we’re expecting. We are talking about The Moff after all.
We’re five days out from new Doctor Who. To try to compartmentalize my excitement (can one do such a thing?), I will be posting one thing each day until the premiere to highlight something in the new series that I am excited for!
5. More Rory!
Mr. Pond
Rory is about the closest thing we’ve had to a relateable male companion since Jamie. (Yes yes Harry Sullivan but he wasn’t around long and unfortunately wasn’t given much to do.) Here we finally have a chance to have a break-out male character aside from the Doctor. And having a team in the TARDIS is just … so wonderful.
Gallifrey One has come and gone, but the experience is still fresh on everyone’s minds. Especially after Monday night, when Chris Hardwick (“Nerdist”) appeared on Craig Ferguson’s Late Late Show to show what went down at the convention. He brought Bridger, the intern, to the con to teach him the ways of Doctor Who fandom. And it was glorious.

So, Gally has come and gone. It was a really great weekend. It’s like having 1000+ best friends for three days! On Sunday I was a co-panelist on the music panel:
Murray's Gold: The Music of Doctor Who
Afterwards my co-panelist Michaela and I were interviewed by the wonderful boys of Radio Free Skaro. Here are the show notes:
With the 2011 edition of Gallifrey One over half over, the Three Who Rule were still hard at work bringing you interviews with tremendously interesting people at the convention. Torchwood: Miracle Day is keenly discussed with writers Jane Espenson and Doris Egan, and the music of Doctor Who, specifically Murray Gold, was discussed with music scholars Emily Kausalik and Mikaela Schubert. Also joining us for the fun are our good friends Eric from Mostly Harmless Cutaway and Sean from Tardis Tavern. Enjoy, everyone! Only one more day to go… Show Notes:
