who wants poptarts?
February 7th, 2009
Well, #3 of my knitting goals for 2009 involved learning intarsia. Tonight I decided to dive in and give it a try.
Success!
I’ve been meaning to make my own iPod cozy for some time now, and this pattern called out to me. It was a great way to experiment with intarsia.
I decided that I wanted some kind of closure, so I dug through my ridiculous button collection and found a tiny brown button that is almost exactly the same color as the brown yarn. Speaking of yarn, the brown is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes, and the pink is Cascade 220. The brown is a bit dark, so it looks like a toasted poptart which amuses me to no end. I’ll sew some sparkle bead thingies on there once I procure some. Totally fun, and now I know how to do intarsia, at least in blocks. I’ll eventually try out a shape, like a circle or something. Fun!

Haha… I love it! (Love Poptarts too, but haven’t had one since I went veggie. Darn gelatin!) I’ve been meaning to make a cell cozy and take on intarsia myself. One of those New Year’s resolutions I have yet to tackle.

You know, the non-frosted ones are vegan. But then there’s the whole them-being-terrible-for-you thing. All that hydrogenated nonsense and the unnecessary sugar and chemicals.

Yeah, very true… and what’s the point of a Poptart without the frosting? LOL

HAH! Totally.
